An Interesting Spiritual Healing Fact
Faith Healing In The Christian Religion
Faith healing is a phrase that some Christians use who believes that God physically heals people through the power of the Holy Spirit. This involves "laying on hands" and intercessory prayer. Faith healing is often spoken of in other terms in the Christian world. The Catholic Church believes healing occurs because of intercessory prayer of a saint or a person that has the gift of healing. Physical healing has been credited to many saints of the Catholic Church. It is the most common reason...

Spiritual Healing-Deeply Rooted in Christianity
Spiritual and physical healing have deep roots in the history of Christianity. You cannot read about the life of Jesus in the gospels and fail to see that he healed people of their physical and emotional illnesses. His healings drew people to him and he used his ability often and gave his followers the power to heal as well.
The Bible tells us that healing begins whenever there is damage or harm done to the body, either individually or as a group. Christianity today focuses on politics, society issues, relationships between churches, and decision-making problems. Questions about racism, sexism, and differences in class may also be addressed. The Bible states specifically that we are capable of being healed of physical illnesses. Churches sometimes lose focus on that fact as they linger on the broader vision for the whole church body.
Jesus paved the way for physical healing. The members of the early church understood this and focused on the practice. In the first two centuries of Christianity, where Christians went, physical healing went with them. It is the most common miracle that was credited to the early saints of the Catholic Church. Physical healing became less common during the reign of Constantine but it did not vanish. There have been reports of some Christians who have touched and healed people all through the ages. There are those who are being physically healed today in churches, prayer groups, and small Bible studies all over the world. Healing is a part of a deeper spirituality and love of God. We experience the love of God and in turn have a deeper love of those people around us. When God's spirit is there, healing is there also.
All healing is divine healing. Doctors can heal bodies, people can be healed naturally, but who created nature? When our body heals or repairs injuries, it is doing what it was intended to do. Medical healing is rooted in knowing and understanding how the body works. Our body has its own ability to heal itself but sometimes there are roadblocks to our healing. The medical profession cannot heal; it can only delay the dying process. Physical healing does take place today. It is one of the gifts of the Spirit that Jesus gave to his followers, and it is still available to Christians today.
Many people in the world are turning to faith healing, healing ministries, alternative medicines, and unusual therapies in their search for spiritual and physical healing. They may have a spiritual hunger, be looking for meaning in their life, and are seeking the direction they need to take for a fulfilling life.
People are not to replace medical practice or medicine by faith healing. Christians should not look at medical science as their only source of healing. Healing is when God steps in to bring about healing by using His Divine power when medicine is not doing the job. God can step in to command the body to do what it was made to do, heal itself. These miracles show who is in charge of the universe! |
