An Interesting Spiritual Healing Fact
Spiritual Healing-Deeply Rooted in Christianity
Spiritual and physical healing have deep roots in the history of Christianity. You cannot read about the life of Jesus in the gospels and fail to see that he healed people of their physical and emotional illnesses. His healings drew people to him and he used his ability often and gave his followers the power to heal as well.
The Bible tells us that healing begins whenever there is damage or harm done to the body, either individually or as a group. Christianity today focuses on...

The Role of Music in Spiritual Healing
Music has been used throughout the ages to sooth crabby babies; reduce stress, and a means of expressing love. Music gives comfort to the soul and joy to the heart. Many fairy tales often use the word enchanted, which means to be filled with chanting. Chant means to sing or speak in a changing tone. Music has long been used to soothe troubled people and singing a joyful song even if you are not joyful can make you feel better. Music can be an important part of spiritual healing.
Music can be a part of your spiritual healing whether you are singing a solo in the shower or listening to a beautiful choir singing in harmony. You have the opportunity to sing with the radio, sing in the shower, or sing an old song you loved from your childhood. Humming is another form of music that will soothe the soul. Humming is a great alternative to singing if you feel you are tone-deaf! If neither of those works for you, how about drumming a beat on your knee or a countertop? Whistling is another good way to make music. Maybe you do have a musical talent and can pick up a guitar or another instrument and accompany yourself in song. If you are brave enough, there is great pride in being able to sing in front of others, sing a solo, duet, or even karaoke! It gives you the feeling you are someone in this negative world.
Music as part of spiritual healing can be done in a group setting. You may choose to join a choir at your place of worship; it can fill your heart with joy to sing with a group of people who have the same beliefs you have. Play your instrument in a band; a praise group always needs back up instruments. There is nothing like the sound of a band and live music to raise your mood and lift your spirits.
Joining a group of singers, taking part in a quartet, duo, or trio can unify people in many ways. Even if you feel you can only snap your fingers, or clap with the beat, it allows you to feel a part of a much larger group. Singing together can give you a spiritual togetherness that cannot be found in other situations. To hear many voices and instruments raised as one in worship can bring spiritual healing to the soul. When the music is so grand that it vibrates in your soul it can heal old wounds and give us healing in our spirits.
Music is used in homes for the developmentally disabled and in nursing homes to sooth the elderly. Doctor's often have soothing music in their waiting rooms that allows the patient to be calmer before they go in for an exam. Music can change feelings and emotions and change the world. Music can change an inner city street corner, ease the suffering of cancer patients, and comfort the sorrowing. Music is an international language that engulfs us all in its beauty. |
